CELEBRITIES SPEAK – HOLLYWOOD, MUSIC and MORE
Our May 22, 2021 Mind, Body, and Spirit forum: Celebrities Speak – Hollywood, Music and More draws on disparities and inequality in Hollywood and the Music Industry referring to the various forms of discrimination and social inequality in the global media industry. There are many branches of the media industry, such as news, television, film, music, agencies, studios, to name some of the major players. In each one of these branches, there are many instances of inequality since Hollywood formed as the entertainment hub in the early 1900s.
Women of different races, and ages have faced discrimination and differing opportunities since Hollywood’s and Music’s inception. These industries have evolved over time, but efforts are still being made today to highlight these issues and work towards making changes. Some of these responses are social movements, such as this World Of Women forum, and have been created in an effort to make changes with diversity and inclusion across the industry.
Within the forum there are numerous opportunities to attend multiple sessions to better understand the possibilities and pitfalls within these industries. The plenary session is a set of presentations from our Keynote and Guest Speakers. Other sessions are hosted by additional speakers and businesses.
